Learning

Learn. Practice.
Grow together.

Thoughtful training rooted in the tradition of Bharatanatyam.

Group-based learning

Students of similar capabilities learn in small groups. Learning from one another’s corrections, as well as their own, helps students develop awareness, discipline and confidence.

Progress depends on interest in the art form, regular practice outside class and a willingness to learn alongside peers.

Beginning at Abinaya

The academy’s established admissions approach has included beginner entry from age five and an initial one-month trial. This allows the teacher and family to understand a student’s interest, practice habits and comfort with group learning.

Parents are encouraged to arrange a class observation before enrollment. Please contact the academy to confirm current age guidelines, trial arrangements, fees, venues and class times.

Practice and understanding

Students study the theoretical aspects of Bharatanatyam alongside practical training. Hand gestures and their usage are practiced at home and periodically reviewed in class.
